Facials and Skincare

Have you ever had a facial? Well, now you can learn all about the different types of facial techniques and what they can do for your skin. You also get to learn massaging techniques for the neck and face to help your clients feel more relaxed and comfortable during their appointment.

Knowing what’s in your skincare products and how they work is a big part of skincare! You can learn the science behind products, and how skin reacts to the ingredients in them. It’s important to learn about chemistry and ingredients to best take care of your skin. As part of our esthiology program, you’ll get to work with Aveda products, which uses only naturally derived ingredients and no harmful chemicals.

Hair Removal

Hair removal techniques have become a big part of esthetician programs! Waxing is a type of hair removal that has been around since the 1960s. We teach our students how to wax, because it makes clients feel like they can have smooth clean lines. Common areas you can learn how to wax include eyebrows, above the lip, or body waxing!

Other hair removing techniques include eyebrow arching techniques and tweezing. You don’t have to spend time getting perfect eyebrows every day. Estheticians can use eyebrow arching techniques and tweezing to help you achieve perfectly shaped eyebrows that last.

Makeup

Estheticians can learn about makeup techniques that can make clients feel confident about their look. You can learn about contouring, highlighting, and blending in foundation. You can also get an education in color theory, which means you’ll be able to know which colors are complementary colors. This can help you when you are applying makeup to different skin complexions.

Makeup can accentuate natural features like jaw lines, eye shape, lip shape, and more. Learning about facial anatomy is very important to make your clients feel like you are highlighting their best features, and a good esthetician can do all of this and more.

Safety First!

Students can learn about sanitation requirements and be shown how to properly disinfect all of their tools. They can learn about safety rules such as the types of equipment they can use, environment safety, and product safety. Having a safe sanitary environment is an essential part of being an esthetician, and students will be required to follow safety guidelines while they’re learning.

Laws, Rules, & Regulations

Once you’ve learned the skills and talent needed, you can learn the laws, rules, and regulations! Each state has their own requirements, as the laws in Utah, Arizona, and Colorado are all very different. But, in general, you can learn what procedures to follow to help you become a trustworthy esthetician, from how to run a business to proper business sanitation guidelines.

These safety rules and regulations ensure that estheticians are all properly trained on how to create a clean safe environment and how to give their guests the best possible experience.

Learning this information and becoming certified can help your clients build trust and confidence that you are a professional and know what you are doing.

Business Skills

By learning business skills such as communication skills, you can learn how to maintain guests and make them feel special. We can teach you how to make new guests feel right at home and how to maintain your relationship with existing guests.

If you want to go far in your future career you’re going to want to know the ins and outs of the business you’re in! That’s why we provide business skills training with our programs to help set our students up for success in any career they choose to pursue. Here are a few of the things you can expect to learn:

  • How to dress professionally
  • How to navigate tax laws
  • How to manage a business

  • How to set good goals
