What Does a Hairstylist Do?
When people think of hairstylists, they may only think of a hairdresser trimming hair at a salon. However, the profession involves much more than just cutting hair. Some of the duties you may take on each day are:

- Massaging and treating the scalp

Where You’ll Work
Graduating from hairstyling school allows you to pursue different career paths. Many hairstylists take on positions in salons or spas, allowing them to see the same clients frequently and build relationships. You can also find work at hotels and resorts, providing services for travelers and vacation-goers.

- Permanent wave applications
- Effectively working on all hair textures from 2A to 4C
- Thermal styling and event styling techniques
- Well-being and self-care
Our hairstyling program also prepares you for the business side of your career, with courses covering social media and marketing, business building, and career and financial planning.
You’ll learn how to provide services for women and men, which is important as the men’s grooming industry continues to rise in popularity. Our Denver and Provo programs include 1,200 hours of instruction, while our Arizona-based programs include 1,000 hours. Most students can complete the entire program in less than a year.
