Become a Leader in the Classroom

Two women in matching sweaters posing for photoAs an educator, you’ll have the opportunity to make an impact by imparting your knowledge and professional expertise to your students. You’ll be their coach, mentor, and one of their first authentic connections to the beauty industry. We can help make your transition from professional to mentor feel seamless. We’ve developed an extensive curriculum designed to help student educators from Inspire Greatness Aveda Institutes stand out.

While curriculum specifics may vary depending on which campus location you choose, instructor students learn in the classroom, gain hands-on training, and receive one-on-one coaching experiences. Plus, you’ll also be trained in Aveda culture, techniques, guest relations, and more, receiving a valuable education found exclusively at Inspire Greatness Aveda Institutes.

Our Instructor Curriculum

We believe a well-rounded education can set future educators — and the students they guide — up for a lifetime of success. The foundational knowledge gained through our instructor programs is key to making those valuable connections with your students. Our 350-hour programs are broken down into five sections:

  • Arizona state rules and regulations (80 hours)
  • Curriculum development (100 hours)
  • Classroom and clinic oversight (100 hours)
  • Professional development (30 hours)
  • Educator certification (40 hours)

We’re proud to offer the professional development portion of our program, which focuses on FranklinCovey’s “7 Habits of Highly Effective People.” Through this section of our curriculum, you’ll learn how to lead and grow into your new role as a professional beauty instructor.

Essential Skill Building and Arizona Licensure

Arizona state law requires student educators to become licensed after completing their training. Once your program is complete, you will be eligible to take the theory and practical competency exams required to earn your Arizona State Licensure. The curriculum includes coursework targeting the following areas:

  • Classroom management
  • Theory and practical lesson planning
  • Clinic floor management
  • Presentation skills
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Culture building
  • Online teaching methods

We believe relationships make a difference. Along with learning how to present lesson plans, students learn how to effectively communicate with cosmetology and esthiology students. Under your leadership and guidance, students can become masters of their craft and achieve rewarding careers in their specialty.

Thanks to day and evening classes, our future instructors are also able to learn around their busy schedules. This flexibility helps ensure most anyone who wants to become a cosmetology instructor or an esthetician instructor can do so in a way that best suits their needs.
