Why Choose a Barbering Career?

Barber schools present a unique opportunity. As the men’s grooming industry continues to rise in popularity, demand for barbers will increase. Because of this, the job market for barbers and hairstylists is expected to expand. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, there will be an average of nearly 90,000 openings for barbers, hairstylists, and cosmetologists each year from 2022 to 2032. This means you’ll experience security, stability, and the ability to look for a job virtually anywhere you want.

Barbers can even consider becoming barber school instructors themselves, taking on freelance and event work, helping companies develop products, or working in personal care services. This flexibility is not the only reason so many people are turning toward this profession, however.

Barbering allows you to tap into your creativity and keeps you up-to-date with the most stylish trends and techniques. It also opens the door for you to rent a chair in a salon, start a mobile business, or open your own shop one day. Lastly, barbers help their clients feel good about how they look. You’ll feel pride knowing you’re helping people look and feel their best.
