Cosmetology Program

The cosmetology program prepares students to work as stylists in salons and spas. But the curriculum isn’t limited to hair. You’ll also study makeup application, body waxing, facials, and more. Coursework will cover topics including:

  • Hair design, cutting, and styling techniques
  • Color theory and application
  • Perms, hair waving, and thermal styling
  • Manicure and pedicure services
  • Waxing techniques
  • Brow and lash tinting
  • Sanitation and hygiene
  • State rules and regulations

This 1,500-hour program can be completed on a full-time or part-time schedule. Upon completion of the cosmetology program, students will be prepared to sit for the Arizona State Board of Cosmetology practical and theory examinations required for licensure.

Esthiology Program

Those who dream of a career in skin care will find a well-rounded curriculum in our esthiology program. This 600-hour program at our Avondale campus is offered both full-time and part-time. With an emphasis on Aveda’s natural and organic vegan products, students learn to provide advanced salon services that include:
  • Facials and facial massage
  • Masks and skin treatments
  • Lymphatic drainage massage
  • Makeup application
  • Waxing and hair removal
  • Health and sanitation practices
Our courses combine classroom instruction with hands-on training so that students can gain practical experience in esthiology. Coursework also includes topics like time management, communication skills, and professional ethics to also help students prepare for the business side of the industry. After completing the esthiology program, graduates will be prepared to take the practical and theory examinations required by the Arizona State Board of Cosmetology for licensure as an esthetician.
