Hairstyling Program Curriculum
Our hairstyling program gives students the knowledge and technical skills they need to pursue licensure as a hair designer in Utah. This 1,200-hour program blends classroom instruction with practical experience in a salon setting. Full-time students attend class 33 hours per week and can complete the program in less than one year.
The curriculum covers all aspects of hair styling and design, including:
- Effectively working on all hair textures from 2A to 4C
- Natural Hair Styling and Setting Techniques
- Thermal Styling and Event Styling Techniques
- Haircutting and Barbering Techniques
- Hair Color Applications
- Hair Extension Techniques
- Permanent Wave Applications
- Money by Qnity – Career and Financial Planning
- Business Building
- Social Media and Marketing
- Well-Being and Self Care
Additionally, students will spend time learning proper sanitation and disinfection practices to ensure a safe and healthy work environment. Because Inspire Greatness Aveda Institutes is dedicated to helping students understand the business side of the industry, coursework will also cover topics like professional ethics, workplace communication, and interpersonal skills.
