Our Instructor Curriculum

We believe a well-rounded education can set future educators — and the students they guide — up for a lifetime of success. The foundational knowledge gained through our instructor programs is key to making those valuable connections with your students. Our 350-hour programs are broken down into five sections:

• Arizona state rules and regulations (80 hours)
• Curriculum development (100 hours)
• Classroom and clinic oversight (100 hours)
• Professional development (30 hours)
• Educator certification (40 hours)

We’re proud to offer the professional development portion of our program, which focuses on FranklinCovey’s “7 Habits of Highly Effective People.” Through this section of our curriculum, you’ll learn how to lead and grow into your new role as a professional beauty instructor.

About the Instructor Program and Curriculum

Inspire Greatness Aveda Institutes provides a quality, professional education designed for students to achieve a career they are passionate about. We accomplish this by offering a well-rounded curriculum. The 350-hour cosmetology and esthiology instructor program offered at our Phoenix campus is broken down into five sections:

• Curriculum development (100 hours)

• Educator certification (40 hours)

The carefully crafted curriculum is designed to teach students how to lead and grow into their new role as professional beauty instructors. Within these sections, students will be assigned coursework targeting the following areas:

• Classroom management
• Theory and practical lesson planning
• Clinic floor management
• Presentation skills
• Interpersonal skills
• Culture building
• Online teaching methods

When attempting to educate and guide others, relationships make a difference. Along with learning how to present lesson plans and other technical aspects of teaching, students understand how to effectively communicate with other cosmetology and esthiology students as instructors. Under your leadership and guidance, students can become masters of their craft and achieve rewarding careers in their specialty.

To better accommodate our students, the instructor program available at our Phoenix campus is offered during the day and evening. This allows future instructors to pursue their dreams even with other life obligations. This flexibility ensures anyone in the Phoenix area who wishes to become a cosmetology or esthetician instructor can do so in a way that best suits their needs.

Arizona state law requires student educators to become licensed after completing their training. Once you complete the program, you will be eligible to take the theory and practical competency exams required to earn your Arizona state licensure.
