Make Memories With Mother’s Day Activities

Gift giving can be a challenge for some people, especially if the person they are giving to doesn’t ask for much! This year for Mother’s Day, instead of spending a lot of money on a foot massager she’ll use twice before it lives under the bed, do something special with her! Gift giving is one of the ways that you can show your love and appreciation, but in today’s fast-paced world we tend to forget about the more thoughtful ways we can show we care. We’ll run through our favorite Mother’s Day activities that you can do to create lasting family memories!

Breakfast in Bed

Breakfast in bed may be a cliche at this point, but it’s for a good reason: Moms love laying in bed and eating food! In fact, most people probably do! If you go for a classic breakfast in bed, your mother with thank you and you’ll win some serious brownie points. If you want to put a modern twist on it, go for a brunch outing or bring breakfast to a scenic location. If your mother is a particular about food in bed, take her for a “wok in the park” and pack a stir fry picnic to share together! Regardless of how you do “breakfast in bed”, your mother will appreciate the time you spend together and the thought you put into making her feel special!

Take a Spa Day

Your mom is probably tired of getting foot bath machines, electronic massagers, or other things for the home spa experience (Except for bath bombs. Nobody will ever get sick of bath bombs!). Stop skimping on your mom and take her to a real spa! Moms everywhere are tired of being given gifts that say “here, give yourself a relaxing spa treatment”. Mother’s Day is a great excuse for both you and your mom to spend time together getting pampered by professionals. She’ll be grateful for the time together, and you’ll both feel invigorated!

Do Some Scrapbooking

As you grow older, you may start to realize how precious family memories can be. Scrapbooking seems to be the project that all moms want to work on, but never seems to get done!! It may sound like a drag for some people, but scrapbooking can be a great way to both spend time together and do something productive! You and your mom will both never forget the time you spent Mother’s Day going down memory lane with some of your favorite family photos and memories. Not only does this make memories for you and your mother, but you can preserve family memories that can be passed down for generations!.

Plant a Garden

Is there such a thing as a mom who doesn’t have a favorite flower? Gardening is a great way to spend time together and create something beautiful and lasting. The best part about gardening on Mother’s Day is that you can create a garden to match what your mom loves most. Some mothers want a vegetable patch full of cucumbers, carrots, peas and other things she can make dinner with. Other mothers want a flower garden full of gorgeous flowers that attract bees and other lovely wildlife. Pick a garden that your mom will love, and work on it together! Any time she sees it she will remember this Mother’s Day and how much you care about her.

Craft Some Home Decor

Moms everywhere love a beautifully clean house, and what better way to accentuate it than with some handmade home decor? Decorate your tables, shelves, mantles, or anywhere else in the house your heart desires! Using sentimental photography or artwork around the house is a great way to make home homier for your mother. You can even add house plants to bring some of that garden feel inside. She’ll feel happier at home, and she’ll always be reminded of her special Mother’s Day with you whenever she sees your project!
